Gastro Non Grata: Eggs for Africa
At this party hosted by Gastro Non Grata, six local chefs will be given 100 eggs each. That's 600 eggs total. What will they do with their allotment? We don't know. What we do know is that at this theme night ingredients will be used for consumption, not as weapons in a chef egg fight. We also know that eggs can be as versatile as they are edible. Partiers may find themselves snacking on flan, ice cream, homemade mayo, omelets, quiche, or who knows what. Culinary experts participating include chefs from Sea Change, Modern Café, D'Amico, and Haute Dish. The people at Gastro like to pair their food with music, so foodies will also jam out to rock groups including Yoleus, Truckstops Across America, and Total Fucking Blood and enjoy country tunes from the Annandale Cardinals, Captain Clawthroat, and Rope Trick. Bring an old T-shirt or buy a new one, and artists from Overproof will create some wearable art for you. Proceeds from the event will benefit the educational and general needs of children in Mozambique.
