Frank Caliendo

Frank Caliendo, the LeBron James of impressionists, is bringing his talents to Acme for one night only. Coming off a nine-year run as the comedy relief on FOX NFL Sunday, he's ready to surprise audiences with his ever-expanding cast of new characters and impressions. No worries, you'll still hear perennial favorites like John Madden, George Bush, Al Pacino, and Robin Williams, but they're now joined by Barack Obama, Charles Barkley, and a new crowd-pleaser who's steadily taking over his act. "Morgan Freeman is getting huge rounds of applause," Caliendo says. "I bring him back throughout the show to get me into different bits." Other voices he's tinkering with include NFL announcer Jon Gruden and Mitt Romney, who he's only invested 47 percent of his effort into — pending election results. The beauty of Caliendo's act is that he combines pitch-perfect impressions with wit, panache, and razor-sharp observational humor. "A lot of people who see me live don't get that," says Caliendo, who's also integrating original characters into his show. "They think it's just going to be a vaudevillian type of, 'Hey, what if Jack Nicholson was eating a burger?' To me, it's about finding the people, making observations just like any comic would, and then acting it out. It's not doing little scenes for no reason." 18+.
