The second word in Fortune Feimster's official biography is "lovable." With Feimster's guileless charm and folksy exuberance, there is a strong argument to be made for putting it first, as falling head over heels for the Southern-born Feimster is as easy as sliding off a greasy log backward. Feimster's first taste of national attention came with her appearance as a semi-finalist on season seven of NBC's Last Comic Standing, but she had begun building an impressive résumé years prior. Born and raised in North Carolina, Feimster moved to Los Angeles in 2003. In 2005, she began training with the Groundlings Theater, a breeding ground for comedians with a decades-long track record for nurturing huge talent. Along the way, she burnished her credentials with a spot performing standup in the New Faces lineup at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and as a paid regular at the Comedy Store. After her eye-catching turn on LCS, it was clear that Feimster was headed for big things. Twice she was offered an opportunity to audition for Saturday Night Live. While her dreams of performing live from New York didn't pan out, she's managed to stay busy as a writer and regular panelist on Chelsea Lately, and she has also performed as part of Dave Chappelle and Flight of the Conchords' Oddball Fest. With such a steep career trajectory, fans would be wise to catch her in a comedy club sooner rather than later. 18+.
