Fashion for Freedom
Using fashion and music as a platform for an important message, History Starts Now, a national nonprofit raising awareness of domestic sex trafficking, will bring its cause to Minneapolis, partnering with local businesses to host a socially conscious fashion event. The New York-based organization is throwing its first fundraiser in Minnesota to stop the exploitation of children and teens forced into abuse. The benefit will feature a fashion show by local boutiques Cliché and Hammer Made along with DJ sets, plus gift bags for the first 200 guests. Co-founders Kristina Lee and Rachael Ann will provide an in-depth presentation on the fight against the sex trafficking of minors in the United States and will discuss ways local government and citizens can take a stand against the practice. Funds raised tonight will be donated to organizations working to end sexual slavery. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be available throughout the night.
