Fall Arts Tour
This evening gallery hop around (mostly) the Grand area of St. Paul features art shows by local students and teachers, plus nationally traveling exhibits, so if you're wondering exactly what college art departments around the area have been up to, now is a great chance to check it out. Participating school exhibits include the University of St. Thomas's "Shiny Is My Favorite Color," which features mixed-media pieces that sparkle, reflect light, and shine in a variety of eye-catching ways. Northwestern College is exhibiting their ongoing show by John Kilduff, who's public-access television show, Let's Paint TV follows him as he does things like work out, cut his hair, eat, and create art, simultaneously. St. Catherine's "Legacy of an Ecocide" follows Petronella J. Ytsma's travels through Vietnam; her photographs of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of soldiers from the war capture the effects Agent Orange has had on later generations. Many locations will have live music and refreshments. Worried about transportation? Free shuttle buses will be running on two different routes, picking up guests every 20 minutes.
