Encyclopedia Show Minneapolis: The Circus
This Sunday, Encyclopedia Show Minneapolis wraps up its second season with an episode all about the circus. The event will include a panel of folks whose areas of expertise include fire manipulation, acrobatics, bearded ladies, ridiculous mascots, and juggling. Hosted by Allison Broeren and Mike Fotis, the live variety show and reading series uses comedy, improv, storytelling, and theater to explore a different topic each month. The whole thing is overseen by fact-checker Levi Weinhagen (Comedy Suitcase). For this particular show, Weinhagen's daughter will be showing off some tricks she learned at circus school. Other guests include Story Arts Minnesota president Katherine Glover, Renaissance Festival regular and theater combat teacher Jena Young, Anna Weggel of Courtney McClean and the Dirty Curls fame, actress Natalie Wass, and comedian Zach Coulter, plus additional surprise guests. The final recap show of the season will be in June, when favorite acts from the past year will return for an evening dubbed "Best of Season 2." There's won't be much of a break, though, as season three starts up in July with planned topics including the Periodic Table of Elements, the village of St. Louis Park, punctuation, video games, spices, flightless birds, and more.
Third Sunday of every month, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 21. Continues through May 19, 2012
