Dia de Los Muertos: Day of the Dead
Halloween isn't the only holiday being celebrated this weekend. For Mexican Americans, Dia de Los Muertos is a family-oriented event honoring and remembering ancestors and relatives who have passed. The Minnesota History Center will welcome folks to do so with its all-day party. The happening will feature traditional dance by Los Alegres Bailadores, folk songs from Rico Duran and Siluetas, a photography display by Martha Driessen, an altar made by local artists, and ofrendas created by students. During the day there will also be food samples, bingo, a skull-making craft, and storytelling. Ofrendas will be on display through November 2. (Photo by st0rmz)
