Family Events, Festivals, Food and Drink
This weekend, the Germanic-American Institute hosts Deutsche Tage, a multi-day festival filled with tasty foods, performances, beer, and music. Things kick off early on Saturday with the Lederhosenlauf 5K, a health run/walk that is as silly and fun as it sounds. During the weekend, there will be plenty of family-friendly activities, as well as cultural demonstrations for grownups, including things like sauerkraut making and homebrewing. The "biergarten" will offer $4 brews to cyclists who flash their bike helmets, and those who enjoy a Viennese-style coffee will want to stop by the Kaffeehause. Sunday's festivities include free carriage rides.
