David Zambrano: Soul Project
Tired of assigned seating for concert dance? Want the freedom to move around at will, whether for a better view or just to try out a move? Venezuelan-born choreographer David Zambrano welcomes you to "Soul Project," his club-like collaboration with dancers from Mozambique, Slovenia, Greece, Slovakia, the United States, and Venezuela. The performance — high-energy solos danced to recordings by such greats as Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and Bettye LaVette — happens onstage with the audience up close and personal. Expect the unexpected, as coincidence and improvisation are primary ingredients during this choreographic extravaganza. (Photo by Anja Hitzenberger)
