Though he's had a busy year working in television, comedian and writer David Feldman is still most passionate about his podcast. In the past few months The David Feldman Comedy Podcast has expanded its offerings, regularly featuring hilarious radio plays of sorts. "I said to the writers," he explains, "'We have this freedom, what are we going to do with it?'" The answer is to do things that corporate employees Bill Maher and Jon Stewart—great as they are—can't do. A few days after Glenn Beck's Lincoln Memorial rally, held on the anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, Feldman and his writers had a response. "We did something where I held a pro-gun rally on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King was shot." Some told Feldman that he might offend people, at least those who couldn't recognize irony. "Glenn Beck held a rally where Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke, on the anniversary of the 'I Have a Dream' speech, and he's a racist. I don't see how comedy should get people more upset than that." If you saw Last Comic Standing this past summer, you know that Feldman is still a sharp standup comedian, still commenting on politics and society. About the so-called "Ground Zero Mosque" controversy, he says, for example, "Have you been to the Middle East lately? Every mosque is near ground zero." 18+.
