With hay fever season just around the bend, it might seem strange to celebrate one of the its biggest contributors. However, few dander-filled weeds possess the sunny charm that dandelions have in spades. This Sunday, folks at the Ard Godfrey House will be honoring Harriet Godfrey's introduction of dandelion seeds to the area with a day-long party for families. Festivities include lessons in making jewelry and chains from the hardy weed, face painting, tours led by costumed characters, and temporary tattoo applications. Grownups may want to take home a free recipe booklet filled with ideas for tea, coffee, salad, and even wine that use dandelions as a key ingredient. (Photo by LawPrieR)
