Taxes and art may not be the most intuitive pairing, but for the past 10 years this Minneapolis business has thrived at both showcasing art and crunching numbers. Fox Tax, founded by brother-sister team Mark and Alyssa Fox, opened shop in Northeast in 2006. Since their offices had more space than they could fill, they decided to turn the front part of the building into a gallery. For their final show in their current space, the duo will be hosting a 10-year retrospective featuring 20 artists who helped make the gallery great. That includes whimsical illustrator DC Ice, animal portrait expert Jennifer Davis, and Gregory Euclide, whose beautiful nature paintings/installations you might recognize from Bon Iver’s eponymous 2011 album. While Fox Tax is vacating their current space, they have assured people via press announcement that they’re not closing shop. The gallery and tax business will be open through mid-April, and around that time they will make an announcement regarding upcoming projects. There will be an opening reception from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, January 14.
