Compañia Flamenco José Porcel

Seville is one of Spain's most important flamenco centers. Walk down its narrow, winding streets and you're liable to run into a flamenco specialty store filled with bright, ruffled costumes and handsome, custom-made shoes. There's even a museum dedicated to the art form that melds dance and music effortlessly. Tonight, one of the city's stars pays us a visit—Compañia Flamenco José Porcel—and it's likely the performance will quickly transport you to the lush Andalusian region. Look for effortless improvisational alegrias, the colorful rondena—a woman's dance—and of course a sensual taranto, or duet of intertwinement. The evening will include two solos by Porcel.
