Cloud Turn: The Weather Vein Project
Is it possible to change the weather? And if we could, what would be the consequences? Do we become godlike? Members of Aniccha Arts, led by Pramila Vasudevan with Mark Fox, Jennifer Jurgens, and Mike Westerlund, have joined together to ponder these practical and philosophical questions of meteorological manipulation in The Weather Vein Project, a multidisciplinary effort combining performance, blogging, and an installation later this summer at the Weisman Art Museum. This weekend Vasudevan leads the stage element with a work relying on high-energy, percussive Indian dance movement and multimedia, created through workshops conducted all over the Twin Cities. Bring an umbrella, a parka, and your sunglasses—who knows what the sky will be doing when you leave the theater!
