Circus Juventas: Sawdust
The traveling circus has a certain romance to it—at once tantalizing and forbidden, but now mostly a sawdust-covered memory from years gone by captured in novels like Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants. Circus Juventas, a training program for young people that presents high-level productions under its own big top, salutes the origins of the modern circus with a program featuring the troupe's most advanced performers. Drift back in time and enjoy all the daredevil aerial feats, bizarre side shows, amazing animal acts, clown antics, and one-of-a-kind glamour from a bygone era, experienced through the eyes of two young dreamers. Part coming-of-age tale, part action-adventure, this performance will surely inspire a few more intrepid souls to run away—if only for a few hours—to experience the fantasy life under the spotlight.
