Few comedians are having as good a 2014 as Chris Gethard is so far. Late last year, Comedy Central ordered a pilot of his more-than-a-little-zany Chris Gethard Show. The live cable-access program has aired in New York City since 2011, developing a cult following thanks to its lovable underdog ringleader, unusual themes (one episode, titled "The Beef Off," settled once and for all which regular cast member was the beefiest), and special guest appearances from the likes of Amy Poehler, Andrew W.K., and Zach Galifianakis. The pilot was shot a few weeks ago, and its fate is now in the hands of Comedy Central. On top of that, Gethard's first album, My Comedy Album, drops April 22. But that's not all: He was also recently selected to do one of Comedy Central's half-hour specials, which will be taped at the end of March. Before that, he'll be at Acme Comedy Co. for five nights and, due to the timing of the gig, this week will be a testing ground for material. "A lot of what I do in my Comedy Central half-hour special will be decided based on these performances," Gethard says. 18+. (Photo by Zac X Wolf)
