Call it a Thanksgiving palate-cleanser, a Whitman’s sampler of choreographic bonbons, or a smartly curated revue of movement (or non-movement) makers. Whatever your take on this post-holiday institution (for 40-plus years now), Choreographers’ Evening is always a great getaway into the more obscure, most accomplished, up-and-coming, and well-established dance happening in the Twin Cities. That said, the show also reflects the aesthetics and proclivities of its curator. This year, that’s the widely respected, astute multimedia artist Megan Mayer. So the wildly entertaining DaNCEBUMS is on the docket, as is the esoteric Charles Campbell, the take-no-prisoners Vie Boheme, and sassy Erin Search-Wells. And so much more. Grab a pal and enjoy this guilt-free indulgence.
