This annual, not-to-be-missed survey of local dance yields numerous rewards: veteran choreographers trying new stuff, folks new on the scene, and well-known envelope-pushers and boundary-breakers in hot, short teasers. If you don't like something, wait five minutes and you're on to the next. This year's curator, the discerning Chris Schlichting, describes the audition last July as a "power showing." We're certainly familiar with sparkers like Kenna-Camara Cottman, Hijack, Mad King Thomas, Megan Mayer, SuperGroup, Jessica Briggs, and Patrick Scully, who are all a veritable who's who of scrappy, alternative dance and performance. Newish kids on the block include Deja Joelle Stowers, Samantha Johns, and the choreographer known only as "Debbie, Secretary." Work off some of that Thanksgiving excess—vicariously, at least—at one of the liveliest dance events of the year. (Photo by Cameron Wittig)
