Chaim's Love Song

Chaim Shotsky is a retired postal worker in Brooklyn who discovers that the end of his working days hardly means the end of life's travails. His son has taken on a ridiculous assumed name to pursue a quixotic acting career, his daughter is leaving her family to find herself, and his wife has been incapable of affection since enduring the Holocaust. The only good thing about such a passel of hassle is, of course, finding a receptive ear to listen, which arrives in a park in the form of Kelly Burke, a young Iowan herself lost in the big city. Marvin Chernoff's comedic drama has been received as rich and moving, drawing real humor out of the troubles life seems so intent on throwing our way. Call for showtimes and ticket prices.
Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 & 7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 25. Continues through Nov. 13, 2008
