Biological science meets the art of the bedtime story in Cellula. Co-produced by HOBT and Puppets Rosenschnoz, the production employs blacklight puppetry and live acapella music, courtesy of improv vocalists Mankwe Ndosi and Libby Turner, to explore the wonders of cell science. First presented as a 17-minute piece for HOBT’s Puppet Lab series, the show is two years in the making, thanks in part to a number of grants, including one from the Jim Henson Foundation. Cellula features performers Shari Aronson and Chris Griffith, with direction from Kurt Hunter. Come for the Microscope Fun Gallery an hour before the show, where you can try your hand at both contemporary and vintage magnifying devices with the help of volunteers from the MN Microscopy Society, Mia, and Mill City Museum. All matinees are sensory-friendly.
