Celebrate Public Art on Campus
For 25 years, public art has flourished on University of Minnesota campuses in St. Paul and Minneapolis. In celebration, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum has created the "Public Art 25" exhibition in its Target Studio for Creation Collaboration, put together an online virtual tour of the campus's public art, and, this Wednesday, will host a panel discussion on the significance of public art at the U. The indefatigable Jack Becker of Forecast Public Art moderates the discussion with artists Andrew Leicester, Andrea Stanislav, and Diane Willow — all of whom work in the public domain and exhibit their work nationally. The gallery exhibition runs through March 30, 2014. (Pictured: Eduardo Kac, Natural History of the Enigma I)
