For "BYOB Minneapolis," the first in Minnesota, artists have been invited to exhibit video installations using a projector. The series began in Berlin when Anne de Vries and Rafael Rozendaal came up with the idea (the second "B" in BYOB refers to beamer, the German word for projector). For this one-night-only event, 30 artists, including local and international talent, will create a variety of digital pieces to be projected on the empty walls of the Thorp Building. The Minneapolis exhibition is curated by Travis Stearns and Josh Clancy, and the evening will also include a performance from electro/experimental/hip-hop group Elite Gymnasts.
Sat., June 25, 9 p.m.-midnight, 2011
