Brew at the Zoo
It might seem counterintuitive to drink beer in the presence of bears, lions, and tigers, but thankfully they're only nearby. Brew at the Zoo will be held outdoors on the Central Plaza, and while the weather may be humid, the beer will be cold. Each guest will receive a commemorative glass, which can be filled throughout the evening to sample from dozens of varieties of beer. Drinks on tap include selections from Rock Bottom Brewery, Magic Hat Brewing, Lift Bridge Beer Co., Brau Brothers Brewing Company, Flat Earth Brewing Company, and many others. There will also be complimentary appetizers to snack on, plus non-alcoholic beverages for designated drivers or those between samplings. Be sure to wander over to the Russia's Grizzly Coast exhibit; the habitat will be open until 8 p.m. Local rocker Tim Mahoney will provide live tunes, as will opener Dan Rodriguez. All funds support the Minnesota Zoo's Conservation Fund. (Image courtesy of the Minnesota Zoo)
