It’s a show that only Twin Cities audiences get to enjoy, as Chris Bliss and Josh “J. Elvis” Weinstein return for their annual run of shows at Acme. “We stand out there with each other and, as the spirit moves, comment on whatever the other act is saying at the time,” Bliss explains. It’s not always beneficial to be the one trying to subvert the other guy’s act, however. “If you dig a hole for him, he’s just going to turn it over to you,” he continues. “So there are a lot of conflicts of interest in this show. That’s what this show should be called: Conflicts of Interest.” Weinstein continues to make documentaries when he’s not doing standup. In 2015, Michael Des Barres: Who Do You Want Me to Be received the Melvyn Douglass Best in Show award at the Macon Film Festival. Meanwhile, Bliss is working on his Bill of Rights Monument project. That organization seeks to place a tribute in every state capital. Friday’s shows are Bliss-only. 18+.
