Black Weirdo:The Party
The folks at Gamut Gallery like to keep us on our feet, offering a variety of unexpected happenings throughout the year. Recent events have included a fabulous clothing swap, a political benefit with Rogue Citizen protesting the minimum wage, and an exhibition featuring Cameren Torgerud's photography of abandoned spaces. This weekend, the gallery will be throwing a killer dance party not to be missed. Black Weirdo is a nationally touring shindig celebrating queer-identified people of color and their allies. The gathering, hosted by THEESatification (a.k.a. Stasia Irons and Catherine-Harris White), aims to be a friendly and low-key get together that is both queer- and black-positive. Helping to create that vibe will be a few local artists and musicians, with DJ sets from Sarah White (Black Blondie, Shiro Dame), Sweetz P, Mamadu (also known as Toki Wright), DJ Just Nine, Sassyblack, and Stas Thee Boss. 18+.
