Black Dice/Marijuana Deathsquads/Hasps
Brooklyn's Black Dice have made a career out of doing things differently. The wildly experimental trio honed their idiosyncratic, unorthodox sound on the celebrated electronic labels DFA Records and Fat Cat before branching out to Paw Tracks and now Ribbon Music, which just released their challenging but innovative new record, Mr. Impossible. The group has consistently pushed the parameters of what a song can be, while augmenting their untamed performances with striking artistic visual elements that bring an added depth to their frequently strident sounds. The avant-garde local collective Marijuana Deathsquads (led by Gayngs and Poliça mastermind Ryan Olson) bring their own unconventional sonic twist to the evening. All Ages. (Photo by Barbara Soto)
