Bill Bryson roams the world and writes about travel with effortless wisdom and humor. He makes it seem effortless, anyway. His style is as accessible as it is sophisticated. In contrast to his tales of distant places, his most recent book, At Home: A Short History of Private Life, finds infinite space in private residences throughout the ages, using a tour of his own home as an excuse to muse on a wide range of social and historical oddities. This event is part of the Pen Pals Author Lecture Series, which benefits the Literary Foundation of Hennepin County.
