Bike Night at the MIA: Tour de Force
According to Travel & Leisure magazine, Minneapolis is one of the world's greatest cities for bicycling—as if the crazy folks taking their 10-speeds to work in a blizzard weren't proof enough. Seriously, what is with those people? Anyway, that enthusiasm is one of the reasons Bike Night at the MIA: Tour de Force will probably be the most fun two-wheeled event all summer. The night kicks off with free Surly beer and a pre-party at the One on One Bicycle Studio (117 Washington Ave. N., Minneapolis; 612.371.9565) at 6 p.m. Then cyclists will pedal over to the MIA for an evening of bike-centric entertainment. Attendees will have the opportunity to create a faux-retro bike poster using their own design, take a gander at local designer Anna Lee's Ruby3 line of clothing that makes bikers both stylish and comfortable, and watch the classic 1948 film The Bicycle Thief. And, as if that weren't enough, Kid Dakota will cap the evening off with a rock concert.
