After a first act as the slightly droning and dissonant lo-fi kin of lady-led '90s alt-rock acts like the Breeders, L.A. trio Best Coast polished up and smoothed out their sound on last year's The Only Place. Now falling more in line with the jangly Reagan-era exploits of the Go Go's, frontwoman Bethany Cosentino nevertheless remains as jaded as ever, even if her melodies have taken a turn toward the sunny side. Tunes like the aptly titled "Angsty" feature the sort of prickly sentiments as "It's overwhelming how much I hate everything, except you." With Prissy Clerks. 18+.
