You may have seen Ben Gleib as a regular panelist on Chelsea Lately, or you may know him better as one of the top headlining comedians in the country. "My act runs the gambit," he says. "I like to do everything from politics to social commentary." Gleib's insight on these topics has earned him a regular gig as a commentator on The Patt Morrison Program on NPR station KPCC in Los Angeles. "I like to make you think a little bit while you're laughing your ass off," he explains. "I also like to talk about random and surreal subjects, as well as the little things we all do." Or have done. "One of my favorite bits is about how when we were in high school, to keep us in control, they'd threaten us with things we thought were real, like our permanent record," he says. "There was nothing permanent about it. After you get out of high school it's gone. It doesn't come up in a job interview. No one ever said, 'Mr. Johnson your qualifications are excellent for this job, but looks like you were a jerk in chemistry. Please leave my office.' That never happens. And if I had known that, I would have been more of a jerk in chemistry class." 18+; 21+ later shows. (Photo by Je Bo)
