Ballet Works Project
This year, James Sewell Ballet has moved its immensely popular annual foray into experimental choreography, Ballet Works, to the new TEK BOX Studio in the Cowles Center. TEK BOX, the combination of Studio 2B and Minnesota Dance Theater's former studio space inside Hennepin Center for the Arts, is a new 102-seat black box complete with lighting, rigging, and sound systems. Ballet Works inaugurates the space this weekend, with choreography by JSB co-founder Sally Rousse, Black Label Movement's Eddie Oroyan, post-modern innovator Karen Sherman, and tango artist Sabine Ibes. Up next? Stay tuned as TEK BOX becomes a go-to venue for independent dance artists. (Image by Erik Saulitis)
