ASID Showcase Home Tour

HGTV home-improvement show addicts take note: You can now see the real thing live in the Twin Cities. This year the American Society of Interior Designers expanded its yearly project, revamping two locations instead of one. Included is the family home of Dan Buettner, endurance cyclist, best-selling author, and explorer. His home, found at 2691 East Lake of the Isles Parkway in Minneapolis, features a room-by-room tribute to his book, The Blue Zones. The other site, located at 1805 W. Lake St. in Minneapolis, is a three-bedroom condo overlooking Lake Calhoun. It features trendy wallpaper, huge windows, and a sculpture shown recently at the M.I.A.'s "Louvre and the Masterpiece" exhibit. Whether you're looking for design ideas or just like looking, you'll learn a little about home decorating. Proceeds from the event will benefit four local nonprofits: The Jeremiah Program, Cornerstone, Second Harvest Heartland, and the Junior League of Saint Paul. For more info call 612.336.9296 or visit
Wednesdays-Sundays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: May 15. Continues through June 13, 2010
