Now in its third consecutive year, "Artery" is a strange collage of dance, film, art, performance, and more. This installment, "Artery Twentyten," will last four days instead of 24 hours, and host 22 artists performing 18 different works. Previous years have brought Slackdancer Aerial and Joseph Gillette, whose act has been described as a "psychedelic pop-music parable." This year's festival begins with a performance by Ben Gathtus dubbed "Sonar Tag," and involves a game called Quan Nu. There will also be two installations on display for the entire event, although they are not necessarily static or merely background. These pieces will continue to be manipulated throughout the four days by artists Vena Ambrose, Natasha Hassett, and Alicia Dvorak. Kats D. Fukasawa, recipient of a McKnight Artist Fellowship, will be closing the weekend with Kambuta Tsuitachi, an experimental performance installation based on the Japanese Obon Festival.
