Summer is fast approaching, which means visits to the lakes, bike rides, and tons of amazing outdoor art happenings. Two such events are the 10th annual Red Hot Art Festival and the Cinema & Civics outdoor film and music series. Both of these seasonal treats will be funded in part by the Art Squared art show and fundraiser, taking place at the Stevens Square Center for the Arts. This spring evening's summer-fun funding event will have all the makings of an arty party, including raffles where you can win prizes donated by local artists, live music, Surly beer, dancing, and a taste of the excitement to be had in the coming festival months. The event will hopefully demonstrate Minnesota's devotion to the arts, as there will be loads of local art for sale, including donated works by JM Culver, Greg Gossel, Matt Wells, and Eric Mattheis. Musical performances include the Chord and the Fawn, the Absent Arch, and Kicks and Spurs. In addition, the Rogue Citizen collective will be creating a live painting over the course of the evening.
