Art Sled Rally
It's nearly impossible to have a bad time while watching some silly contraption try to make it down an icy hill. And it's even more fun if you are on board such a contraption. This is the basic premise of the Art Sled Rally, now in its fifth year. Each winter, folks head out to Powderhorn Park to watch people plow down a hill on sleds fashioned to look like teacups, bears, boats, bananas, and Frosty the Snowman. So bring a thermos of hot cocoa and get ready to cheer on your favorite creations, be they fast, slow, small, or large. Regardless, it should be nearly impossible for spectators to walk away from this event without smiles on their faces. The event will take place on the western slopes of the park, and should there be no snow on Saturday, the rally will be moved to Saturday, February 4. For more info, visit www.artsledrally.com.
