Arj Barker has been successfully headlining comedy clubs across America for years. In Australia, however, he's absolutely huge. "Well, I don't know about that," he responds. "I do pretty well. I sell a lot more tickets there than I do anywhere else at this point. I mostly play theaters there." Barker lives part of the year Down Under. "It's hard to stay away from a place where lots of people come to your shows," he adds. Barker points out that there are a lot people around the world—not just the Aussies—who realize that Americans aren't represented by former President George W. Bush. "They do like America," Barker says of Australians. "They're excited to come here. They mostly want to go to Las Vegas, New York, and San Francisco. I'll tell them about Minneapolis." His immediate plans are to finish out some dates here and in Australia before turning his attention to other projects. He doesn't like being away from the stage, though. "Doing live work is a pretty good life," he says, "and it's a good living. I'm kind of torn between spending time in Los Angeles and just being out there doing standup." 18+.
