"Growing up in Canada, we had the best of both worlds," says comedian Angelo Tsarouchas. "We had British comedy and American comedy. And Canadian comedy, of course, but we were influenced by the other two." He must have learned something from that mixture, as he has toured all over the world. "Anywhere they can understand English," he adds. For several years he lived in London. However, a very successful stint at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival in his native Canada brought him to the attention of Hollywood executives. So he left England and now lives in Los Angeles. It's been a successful relocation; he has shot a special for Showtime and has several development deals for his own TV show. That could be a good fit, particularly at this stage of his career. Always a solid joke teller, Tsarouchas has found that his act has changed over the years, moving more into long-form bits. "People never get tired of hearing about your stories," he says. "People tell me that after the show. As a comedian, you don't want to go up there with rehearsed material all the time—that's really boring. I like talking about experiences now, and people get into it, which makes it fun. I'm having a great time doing it." 18+; 21+ later shows.
