America's Got Talent
After inviting Minnesotans to audition for the show in January, America's Got Talent is returning to Minneapolis to film episodes at the Orpheum Theatre. AGT, one of NBC's top-rated summertime shows, follows the same format as American Idol (both are executive produced by Simon Cowell), but includes a variety of acts. At the end of the season, one supremely talented American will walk away with $1 million in prize money, along with the opportunity to tour the country and headline a live show in Vegas. Performers can range from dancers to magicians to opera singers to ventriloquists. Even if you are unfamiliar with the television show, you might still be familiar with the judges and host. The lineup includes Irish journalist Piers Morgan, rock 'n' roll wife Sharon Osbourne, and affable germaphobe Howie Mandell. Nick Cannon, husband of Mariah Carey, hosts. Though this show is free, it is recommended that you visit www.hennepintheatretrust.org to reserve tickets, or call 818.295.2700 for large groups.
