Altered Esthetics' 8th Anniversary Party
Things will be getting radical for Altered Esthetics' eighth birthday party. Not in a political sense, mind you, but more in the vein of the '80s slang definition of the word. At the event there will be plenty of activities inspired by that era, including Nintendo and Atari games played on a big screen. You'll also be able to check out "Level_13: Cheat Codes," the space's yearly show featuring art inspired by old-school video games, plus '80s drawings from the International Cartoonist Conspiracy. Fortune tellers will help you see into your future (hopefully past the '90s and '00s), and the "Curator's Nightmare" obstacle course will most likely haunt your dreams. Be sure to come dressed in your Reagan-era best, be it unloading a can of Aqua Net on your crimped hair or putting on your snazziest power suit (complete with massive shoulder pads, of course). Prizes will be given to those with the best hair and costume.
