AE Presents: Hitchcock
To look at a frame of an Alfred Hitchcock movie is a lot like viewing a piece of art; the composition, the colors, the use of lighting and space are all crucial elements in creating suspense and cinematic horror. The master filmmaker's body of work will serve as the creative jumping off point for Altered Esthetics' latest group show. Pieces range from video installation to paintings to mixed media to photography, and explore films including Rear Window, The Birds, and others. Adding to the opening reception's ambience will be original music by Greg Brosofske, inspired by the Master of Suspense, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, October 1. There will also be an artists' panel at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 16. (Brandon Kuehn, Birds)
