Adam Hunter

Adam Hunter is used to getting a reaction. In college he hosted a TV talk show on the campus closed-circuit network that resulted in a riot and a lawsuit. "I had a panel and a Budweiser model," he says, describing the program. "It was a call-in show, and this girl came on who had hooked up with some guy in her dorm. They guy and his friends started calling, because she was antagonizing him. Next thing you know she goes back to her dorm and people are throwing water balloons at her." It escalated from there, and Hunter wound up getting sued. "It wasn't really my fault. The case was thrown out." The former high school and college athlete turned his energy to entertainment when he quit wrestling. Acting classes followed, but he still yearned for a better vehicle for his performing talents. "I remember thinking, 'I wish there was a medium where I could just be me and make people laugh." Standup was the answer, and after toiling at venues across New York City (including laundromats and coffee shops), Hunter won a contest for best new comedian. That landed him in Los Angeles, where again he started performing wherever he could. Roles on Yes Dear and a slot on Last Comic Standing gave him a boost, and today he's constantly working on a variety of projects. He rarely has down time, but he couldn't be happier. "With my job there's no clock, there's no check-in time," he explains. "I perform for an hour or two a night, and the rest of the time I'm not in an office. My office is my head. I'm thinking about things, and experiences, and having opinions. It's hard to stop sometimes." 18+; 21+ later shows.
