A Prairie Home Companion's Annual Supper and Street Dance
As usual, the season premier of A Prairie Home Companion is sold out. Thankfully, you can still get your Garrison Keillor fix at this free opening party. Come early to reserve your spot on the street, the show goes live at 4:45 p.m. You'll be able to listen to it from the outside in all its radio-broadcast glory. Afterwards, pay $5 for a comfort meal filled with carb-y goodness: meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Keillor and friends will also be feasting. After-dinner activities feature dancing in the street, with live music from the Guy's All-Star Shoe Band. (Photo: Andrew Harrer/Bloomberg News/Landov)
