Andrew Lucia has practiced residential architecture for over a decade, but his passion lies in more esoteric realms: using computer analysis to seek out the hidden potential of material and form. As the current Cass Gilbert Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture at the U of M, Lucia has been modeling these aspects of architecture by extrapolating their geometry and textures to create works seemingly straight out of speculative fiction. Light is the basis of his experiments, and gives the works a transcendent luminosity.
