2nd Annual Too Much Turkey Dinner
Out of all the candidates for ways a holiday can go sour, few of them are more miserable than the prospect of having Thanksgiving alone. Maybe you can't make the trip out of town to see the family -- at least, assuming you have a family you'd want to spend a turkey dinner with. And maybe you're a broke college student who can't really afford to splurge and are staring down the possibility that Thanksgiving dinner will be a $5 foot-long sub. Good news: First Ave has you covered. For the second year, the amps and the soundboard are put aside to make room for a gigantic -- and free -- Thanksgiving banquet, with food generously provided by the Meadows Cafe and Rock Bottom Brewery. Of course, it's still First Avenue, so there'll be musical accompaniment, provided by Saturday night fixture and eclectic tastemaker DJ Sovietpanda of Too Much Love fame, who'll provide enough beats and bass to stave off the inevitable Tryptophan crash.
