2012 Midtown Greenway Community Bike Festival
Now in its third year, the Midtown Greenway Community Bike Festival celebrates bike love in the Twin Cities. Cycling to the daylong event is recommended, as there will be free checkups and bike decorations offered throughout the day. Get there early for giveaways that include water bottles, T-shirts, and snacks. A one-hour bike tour starts at 1 p.m., or show up at 1:15 or 2:30 p.m. and take a 30-minute guided tour. The Children's Rodeo offers fun for kids while also teaching about bike safety, and live music will be provided by Kansas City blues/swing band the Grand Marquis. Looking to learn more about Twin Cities bike resources? Folks from a variety of organizations, including Nice Ride Minnesota, Freewheel Bike, and Bike MN, will also be on hand.
