2008 Fresh Ink Series: and they said I wouldn't make it
Illusion Theater's Fresh Ink series continues this weekend with new work by playwright Samuel G. Roberson Jr. His first play, Same Difference, a study in culture and race, was co-produced by Illusion and Pillsbury House and received local kudos. This time out, Roberson presents a one-man show based on his experiences after being diagnosed with leukemia as a boy. Roberson sets out to depict the African American response to illness and disease, and to offer up a success story as well as a way to preserve the memories of those he met along the way who didn't survive.
July 10-12, 8 p.m.; Sun., July 13, 7 p.m., 2008
