The party's over: Sammy Hagar and the RNC
Here's my account of the Southern Delegation Party at First Avenue last night for the Republican National Convention, which featured a concert by Sammy Hagar as Hurricane Gustav blew toward New Orleans. The night ended with an off-script plea from the stage by musician and wetlands activist Tab Benoit to restore man-destroyed coast land. Off the record, a Republican told me that the convention was effectively "over."
Now I'm headed for "the biggest protest in history" as water spills over the levees in New Orleans.
