BEST POLITICIAN Steve Minn
As glad as we were to see the guy join the Ventura administration, we're going to miss him on the Minneapolis City Council. And not just because of the fireworks. As the council's sole non-DFLer, Minn was a lonely caucus of one--but a very articulate caucus. Though he was almost certainly the council's most business-savvy member, he never became a pawn of the business community and always remained a staunch critic of waste in the city's budget. Minn may be riding with Ventura now, but don't be surprised if he returns to the local level: His name has been bandied about more than once as a potential mayoral candidate.
