Best Place to Do Yoga Minneapolis 2014 - One Yoga Studio
Uneasy with the idea of corporate yoga? One Yoga is your antidote. For starters, there's the space itself, an airy building in Lyn-Lake that houses two spacious studios, a yoga library, and an indoor art gallery. Where other studios have mirrors, One Yoga's space has windows and plants. Some studios charge for mat rentals and water, but One Yoga offers free tea and free mats. Drop-in classes range from Vinyasa options to make you sweat as much as any class in the Cities, to Mysore-style Ashtanga and Kirtan chanting. They're led by a roster of 13 excellent instructors, who also offer workshops and events. The best part about One Yoga, though, may be what happens outside the studios. It operates as a nonprofit, and not only provides sliding-scale payment options for its in-house classes but also offers a community outreach arm that connects local organizations and volunteer instructors in order to spread access to yoga. Namaste.
