Ask what happen to the C C? How could Lynn Gordon. It wasn't even a year. Her 95% employee turn- over just went up! What a joke :(
Best Jukebox Minneapolis 2014 - CC Club
For decades, the CC Club's jukebox was legendary. Back in the mid-'70s, employees from the record store across the street would load it up with new releases, and bands like the 'Mats would stock it with their latest singles. When a local group's record showed up in rotation, it was a sure sign they had made it. But then, in 2011, the bar's longtime owners swapped out the CD juke for a digital one. Suddenly, barflies had access to 3,000 songs — but not as many local ones. In May 2013, the CC Club changed hands, and three months later, the bar's new owners gave regulars cause for a toast: They traded the TouchTunes machine for an old CD juke, and started re-stocking it with local music, trading free beer for CDs. Today, while nursing a drink near bar close, patrons can flip through CDs from Hüsker Dü and Public Enemy — or from local newbies Ginkgo, whose debut, Manopause, is stocked next to the Beastie Boys. While the music plays, look around for the next Tommy Stinson dancing.
